Plage de la Garoupe, situated at Cap d’Antibes (around 25 minutes from Villa Sauternes) offers a wonderful beach with a fantastic Riviera feeling and several really good restaurants where you eat lunch right on the beach. On the world-renowned Boulevard de la Croisette in Cannes (around 30 minutes from Villa Sauternes) is the 5-star hotel called Carlton Intercontinental. A visit to their beach club with lunch included is something that has to be experienced. The fantastic lunch buffet will please everyone. The view and the environment are enchanting. Avenue Princess Grace in Monte Carlo (around 30 minutes from Villa Sauternes) is worth a visit for several reasons. On the way there, you pass by Monaco’s exclusive guest harbour where one yacht is bigger than the next. The world-renowned casino is next door and, if you like nice cars, there is no better road anywhere in the world than the Avenue Princess Grace. In spite of the expensive surroundings, the restaurants on the beach are very good value for money, and the sea is so clean that you would think you were swimming in an aquarium. Nice’s world-renowned beach promenade, Promenade des Anglais, lies 5 minutes from Villa Sauternes. Here, the sea is an absolutely fantastic turquoise colour. After the beach promenade, you come to a number of different beach clubs offering both very good food and various water sports. The beach consists of round stones, so if you have sensitive feet, you should take a pair of pool sandals with you. A visit to Promenade des Anglais is a must when you are in Nice!

The French Riviera does not just offer sun and swimming. Around 30 minutes from Villa Sauternes is the 3 000 year-old artists’ town of St Paul de Vence. The ancient town offers a wave of galleries, cosy shops and pleasant restaurants. Doubtless worth a visit!
 
During the winter months, the nearby Alps offer good quality skiing. Around 1 ½ hours from Villa Sauternes you will find Isola 2000, and on the Italian side, Limone’s great ski slopes await you with a drop of more than 1 000 metres…
